Faculty of Patient Safety Resident Doctor Forum

The North East and North Cumbria Faculty of Patient Safety Resident Doctor Forum is a platform dedicated to training the patient safety leaders of the future.

Designed for all resident doctors across the North East and North Cumbria, the forum serves as a vital hub to cultivate a deeper understanding of patient safety and accelerate the dissemination of key clinical learning.

By highlighting the outstanding contributions of local patient safety teams and providing a space to recognise excellence in resident doctor Quality Improvement Projects, the forum offers an opportunity to build high-value professional networks across the region.

Elevate your practice, connect with lead innovators, and help shape your future in healthcare quality and patient safety. 

Key Goals and Objectives include:

1. To develop a deeper understanding of patient safety theory, culture, systems and processes

2. To disseminate learning from patient safety incidents and investigations

3. To promote pride and identity for local patient safety teams and colleagues across the region

4. To help improve networking opportunities for resident doctors

5. To recognise excellence in resident doctor Quality Improvement Projects

Outcomes link to a variety of curriculum requirements referencing the GMC’s Generic Professional Capabilities Framework Domain 6: Capabilities in patient safety and quality improvement. 

Certificate of attendance for your portfolio will be provided. Attendance is endorsed by the Postgraduate Dean, Deputy Deans and Directors of Training.
