Survey on staff attitude to delirium

WORLD DELIRIUM AWARENESS DAY 2024 - Humanising Delirium Care

Delirium is a complex and serious condition associated with severe psychological impact secondary to medical issues which is under recognised, underdiagnosed, and undertreated. Delirium has high prevalence and can have high mortality of up to 80% in critically ill patients.

It can lead to prolonged hospital stay, persistent neuro-cognitive impairment, increase cost and poor outcomes. There are multiple barriers that can impact on the outcome of good delirium care.

This survey aims to understand challenges impacting staff attitudes towards delirium care in the general hospital setting.
