Spotlight on - Regional Simulation Fellow Induction day.

On 21st August 2025, the Simulation, Immersive, and Human Factors Group hosted the Northeast Regional Simulation Induction Day at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.

The programme offered a rich mix of sessions covering top tips for new fellows, quality improvement, psychological safety, scenario writing, moulage, manikin familiarisation, and debriefing practice. Alongside these structured workshops, fellows also benefited from interactive discussions and opportunities to network with colleagues and faculty from across trusts.

The event was extremely well-received and attended by 23 teaching fellows from across the region, all of whom will play a crucial role in simulation-based education over the coming year. Participants described the day as both enjoyable and highly valuable for their development. Fellows particularly appreciated the supportive environment, the breadth of topics covered, and the chance to connect with peers. Overall feedback was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the quality of teaching and the collaborative spirit of the regional faculty.

This successful event demonstrates the region’s continued commitment to investing in high-quality simulation training and to supporting the next generation of fellows in developing their skills, confidence, and leadership in medical education.

Dr. Barha R. Choudhry, Regional Lead Simulation Fellow.
