This induction day is designed for Simulation Fellows and Teaching Fellows involved in or looking to get involved in simulation-based education. Whether you’re new to simulation or already have some experience, this day will set the foundation for a successful and impactful year ahead. This day is recommended by the deanary for resident doctors or AHPs commencing an simulation out of programme experience year or academic rotation.
Simulation plays a vital role in modern medical education, from improving clinical decision-making and communication skills to enhancing team performance and patient safety. This induction is an opportunity to build confidence, connect with fellows, and develop key skills in delivering high-quality simulation and debrief sessions. It’s also an opportunity to become part of a vibrant, supportive community of educators across the region.
What will the day involve?
This will be an interactive, hands-on day including:
A focused session on Designing quality projects, involving patient safety and abstract submission as a teaching fellow
Practical workshops on scenario writing and debriefing
Optional breakout sessions in tech & manikins or communication simulation
Tips and insights from experienced educators
Time for networking and peer support
Expect a mix of structured learning and flexible breakout sessions — all designed to equip you with the tools, techniques, and inspiration to make the most of your fellowship year.
