About The Course

The College of Emergency Medicine ACCS Simulation Course offers candidates an opportunity to practice key skills managing acutely unwell patient scenarios.

The debrief after each scenario will allow reflection and discussion of the clinical management of the condition and introduce non technical skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication.

The course is aimed at CT1 trainees ideally during the Emergency Medicine placement however is equally useful for other Trust doctors working in Emergency Medicine at a Junior Grade who can attend as additional observers.

This course is provided at various Trusts around the North East & Cumbria region on a rotational basis around the training units per year. Each course can accommodate 6 candidates. The number of courses annually matches the number of trainees in that year, as this course is mandatory for ACCS trainees, if courses at the beginning of the year run undercapacity not all trainees will be able to access a course prior to ARCP.

At present the course is provided to ACCS in the Northern Deanery for £75 which can be reclaimed from Deanery study leave budgets.

The course is formative with no pass or fail and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. PLEASE ENROL JON ADCOCK AT PRESENT TIME - NOT THE WEBSITE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE
